Direzione di ricerca

The request is to extend the existing FerrisKey Kubernetes operator (which already creates a secret, deployment and service) with distinct CRDs and controllers for Realms, Clients (including generating application secrets) and Federations, modelled on the Grafana operator. Review how the current operator is structured and how Grafana-style CRDs map to FerrisKey IAM concepts. Done means at least four CRDs that let a cluster be configured in a GitOps flow; this is design-level work with no files or tests named in the issue.

Descrizione

type:feature
Is your feature request related to a problem?

Having an operator that create a secret, deployment and a service for us is nice. But the real point of an operator is to configure the end-product.

The grafana operator allow for authentification configuration, datasource configuration, dashboard imports using distinct CRDs. This render managing a Grafana instance in a gitops flow a pleasure.

I would love the ferriskey-operator to be able to control (using distinct CRDs, so controllers) :

  • Realms
  • Clients (generating the secret for the applications)
  • Federations
    of the ferris clusters.
Desired Solution

Having (at least) 4 distinct CRDs to install and configure a ferriskey cluster.

Considered Alternatives

Using an alternative generic operator like my kuberest projet. But this is going to be a pain (as usual)
