Start by reproducing the reported behavior in a JavaScript file using the supplied Eclipse version and screen cast; compare it with the JSP StructuredTextEditor, which reportedly works correctly. The issue does not name source files or tests, so locate the generic text editor's handling of edits and horizontal scrolling. Done means edits no longer jump the view back to the beginning of the line.

When I edit a .js file, and as the font is big and my screen being not too big, I have to scroll over to edit lines that don't fit on the viewport. Every time I edit something, the editor jumps back to show the beginning of the line. It has been doing this for a while now.

Is there a setting to stop this jumping, as it makes using the editor difficult/impossible.

(It works ok on the StructuredTextEditor eg editing a .jsp file.)
