Direzione di ricerca
Start by checking the DDI API behavior described in the issue: whether targets can access a chunked artifact without a rollout, through either software-module assignment or direct distribution-set assignment. The issue names no files or tests, so first establish whether this operation is supported; done would be a clear answer about the capability and, if unsupported, a defined change that makes the artifact available to targets.

Descrizione
Hello,
I am implementing diffed OTA updates for a project, using Hawkbit and SWUpdate. I am in need of a storage solution that accepts multipart range requests.
To perform diffed updates with these two services, an update file (.swu file for SWUpdate) refers to a separate artifact storage location, for the chunked and hashed file, that accepts multipart range requests. Those requests are used to download the image differences from what's installed.
I decided to see if Hawkbit could host the chunked file, since it's already hosting and rolling out the .swu. So far, I haven't found a way to assign software modules to targets for them to download the chunked file over the DDI API. I tried by generating a rollout, but with a rollout, specific update files are required (an .swu file for swupdate), and the rollout of the chunked artifact immediately fails and the artifact becomes no longer available to targets over the DDI API. I also attempted direct assignment of a distribution set, but that doesn't appear to make the artifact available over the DDI API.
Does anyone in this maintaining community know if this operation is supported?
Thanks for your help.
