Descrizione
Proposal: add one permanent release to this repo, tag sidestep-installer, marked pre-release (so it never becomes "Latest"), holding a single file: decaid-ipad-installer.zip (≈0.5 MB). Nothing else in the repo or the release workflow changes. If you agree, everything below is a couple of minutes' work for you; tell me when it's done and I'll point the downloads page at it.
Why: the "Decaid for iOS" button on https://decentespresso.com/downloads opens SideStep straight to Decaid if it's installed. If it isn't, the page downloads this small installer, which installs SideStep, gets the iPad ready (USB, Trust, Developer Mode) and then installs Decaid from this repo's latest release. Today the zip is hosted on decentespresso.com; the de1app and dcamp buttons on the same page already download theirs from GitHub releases, and Decaid's should match.
What the file is: the notarized SideStep Wizard app, renamed Decaid installer (10XqZe).app — the code in brackets is this repo's GitHub id, which is how it finds Decaid. It contains no Decaid code and never needs updating for Decaid releases: it always downloads the newest SideStep and the newest decaid-ios-unsigned-*.ipa when it runs. It only gets replaced if the installer itself changes (as today, with SideStep Wizard 0.2.72, which made it run on Intel Macs too).
Why a separate pre-release rather than attaching it to every version: it doesn't change with Decaid versions, so carrying it forward on each release would mean touching your CI for nothing. A dedicated tag gives a stable URL and stays out of the way of releases/latest.
Steps (if you agree)
1. Download the file from our server:
https://decentespresso.com/download/decaid-ipad-installer.zip
SHA-256: 2f14f685ee218d6a46c1c06904bedd59898f2144481b630105fd3ee8333b93d7 (468,791 bytes; contains Decaid installer (10XqZe).app, SideStep Wizard 0.2.72, universal).
2. Create the release — either on the web (Releases → Draft a new release → tag sidestep-installer, title "SideStep installer for iPad", attach the zip, tick Set as a pre-release, untick Set as the latest release, publish), or with the GitHub CLI:
curl -L -o decaid-ipad-installer.zip https://decentespresso.com/download/decaid-ipad-installer.zip
shasum -a 256 decaid-ipad-installer.zip # expect 2f14f685…b93d7
gh release create sidestep-installer decaid-ipad-installer.zip \
-R decentespresso/decaid --target main --prerelease --latest=false \
--title "SideStep installer for iPad" \
--notes "One-click installer used by the 'Decaid for iOS' button on decentespresso.com/downloads when SideStep isn't installed. It installs SideStep, prepares the iPad and installs Decaid from this repo's latest release. Not tied to a Decaid version; replace the asset only when the installer itself changes."
3. Check that this URL downloads it:
https://github.com/decentespresso/decaid/releases/download/sidestep-installer/decaid-ipad-installer.zip
4. Reply here — I'll change the downloads page to use that URL and remove our server copy.
If you'd rather it lived somewhere else, or was carried forward by the release workflow, just say how you'd like it done.
