Direzione di ricerca

The bad reference is in music21/humdrum/spineParser.py near line 91, where the docstring points to humdrum.parseFile. Read that module and the other entry points in music21/humdrum to find the function that actually parses a kern file. Done when the docstring names a function that exists and a short example takes a kern file to a parsed stream, ideally checked by a doctest or a test in the humdrum tests.

music21 version

9.2.0b1

Problem summary

The documentation recommends a method that does not exist.

Steps to reproduce
humdrum.parseFile does not exist but it is recommended in the docs here:
https://github.com/cuthbertLab/music21/blob/80ed662651de43cc33a7e11fb499770c952aaabe/music21/humdrum/spineParser.py#L91

Paste minimal code example here. Most issues can be reproduced with just a few elements.
Attach external files only after attempting to reproduce using a simple stream.

myStream1 = converter.parse('tinynotation: 4/4 c4 e4 g2')
myStream2 = stream.Stream()
myStream2.insert(note.Rest(0.5))

Expected vs. actual behavior
It would be helpful if there were at least one example of how to parse a humdrum file going from a file all the way to the more specific methods. By this I mean for the music21.humdrum approach to parsing kern files, not the more general converter.parse which already has these sorts of examples.

More information

I am happy to submit a PR for this once I figure out how to import kern files using music21.humdrum.
