This is a tracking issue with four separate open items, three of which already have draft PRs (#611, #604, #605). Start by reading the cook shopping-list --from / --to work from #612 and the calendar line editing from #610, since those show the existing code paths. The only item without a PR is reordering lines within a meal, which needs a maintainer decision on scope before code is written.

Follow-up to #385, which is closed now that the meal planner is in main. These are the extras raised in its thread that are not merged yet.

Already in main

  • A menu dated on two days or more is shown as a calendar, one card a day; New Meal Plan creates one (#596)
  • Change a plan from its calendar: add a recipe to a meal, move, copy or remove a line (#610)
  • A menu can use another menu as one of its meals, - @./Brunches/Sunday.menu{} (#609)
  • cook shopping-list --from / --to keeps only some days of a plan (#612)
  • Add All to Shopping List on a menu puts the whole plan on the list

Still to do

  • Add only some days of a plan to the shopping list from the web UI — this week of a fortnight, or the days until the next shop. Draft PR #611.
  • Save as Menu on the shopping list: write the recipes on the list, at their amounts, to a new .menu that puts the same list back together another week (the request carried over from #380). Draft PR #604.
  • Copy for a Menu on a recipe page: copy the line that adds the recipe to a hand-written menu, e.g. - @./Lunch/Cheese, tomato and avocado sandwich{1%servings}. Draft PR #605.
  • Reorder lines within a meal in the calendar. The calendar can add, move, copy and remove a line, but not change its place within the same meal. No PR yet.
