Descrizione

Found by Codex review on #5108 (VS Code webview retry barrier), which fixed the webview side. Both are pre-existing on desktop ChatPane.

Problems

  1. Retry has no keyboard shortcut. The RetryBarrier's Retry button (after a stream error) has no keybind. Shift+R (KEYBINDS.RESUME_STREAM) only resumes a user-aborted turn through the interrupted divider (useAIViewKeybinds gets canResumeInterruptedStream, which is false while the RetryBarrier is visible). AGENTS.md asks for a shortcut for every operation. The webview mirrors desktop here, so both lack it.
  2. Esc on a context_exceeded error disables auto-retry. ChatPane passes the raw showRetryBarrier to useAIViewKeybinds. For a context_exceeded stream error the shared derivation (src/browser/components/ChatPane/retryBarrierDerivation.ts) keeps showRetryBarrier true but suppresses the barrier (showRetryBarrierUI false), so Esc calls stopStream(..., { disableAutoRetry: true }) although nothing visible can be stopped, and the backend persists the opt-out. #5108 gates the webview's Esc on showRetryBarrierUI.

Proposed fix

  1. Route Shift+R (or a dedicated keybind) to the visible RetryBarrier's manual Retry on desktop and in the webview, sharing one handler (for example by lifting the manual-retry action out of RetryBarrierContent or exposing it through a callback ref).
  2. Pass showRetryBarrierUI instead of showRetryBarrier to useAIViewKeybinds, with a test that Esc on a context_exceeded error makes no interruptStream call.
