Direzione di ricerca

The issue points to farPoint.js for sizing behavior, the overlay layer with orbit lines, and Rubin.md for the optics section; it also depends on #337 for the active instrument and pixelScaleArcsec. Read those entry points and inspect the open pull request #346 first. Done means the pixel=1 switch draws the pixel and delivered-resolution markers with the specified field-based sizing, and the size-law unit test and headless frame check pass.

Descrizione

Part of #334 (the maintainer's comment): when the target starts to resolve at the instrument's narrowest field, show what the instrument can actually tell apart.

What. A switch in the Rubin app, "Rubin's pixel", that draws a blunt square at the target's place, its side the instrument's pixel scale on the sky (0.2″ for Rubin; pixelScaleArcsec of the active instrument, from the instrument's-field sub-issue), and a fainter ring or square at its delivered resolution (0.7″ seeing). On the overlay layer with the orbit lines, in the instrument's colour, sized each frame from the field so it reads in screen pixels (as the far point does in farPoint.js): at the pixel-limit field it is one screen pixel; wider it shrinks under a pixel and the marker holds a minimum of a pixel with its opacity falling, so it never pretends to more. Off by default; pixel=1 in the apps.rubin token.

Why. From the seat zoomed to the limit, 2026 ED138's disc (0.03″) sits well inside one Rubin pixel: the marker says so without a number. The same marker serves any later instrument.

Check. A unit test on the marker's size law against the field and the canvas height; a headless frame at the pixel limit with the marker on. Rubin.md's optics section.

Depends on the instrument's field (#337) for the active instrument and its pixel scale.

Preparare l'ambiente

Questo progetto non fornisce container di sviluppo, Dockerfile né guida per i contributori, quindi l'ambiente è a tuo carico: parti dal suo README e consulta la nostra guida al primo contributo per i passaggi generali.

Come iniziare
