Descrizione

Currently the purldb is only available through a json api for both retrieving stored package data and collecting new packages. On the server side, we have to use cli commands to run various package collection actions. It would be useful to have a user interface to manage a purldb instance. This UI would be based off of the scancode.io UI with these features:

  • there should be a dashboard for package collection action status and errors for workers
  • instead of reporting DiscoveredPackages for a Project, we give the number of total packages in our purldb instance, and the user can click on the number, get a list of purls, and see individual package data
  • users can run the miners from the webui to have the server mass collect packages
  • users can input a purl from the webui to have the server get package data for that specific package
  • users can also run pipelines that set up CI workers running minecode-pipelines for distributed data collection
  • users can upload packages for scanning, then add the data to purldb

This would make it a lot easier for users to set up and populate their purldb instance with package data they want.

The UI should also visualize and manage the different states of package data collection:

  • collecting purls and raw api calls for package data
  • creating packages from the collected purls and api calls
  • curation of created packages

A good start would be to have a view for packages and package data
