Descrizione

Route

CI only: .github/workflows/ci.yml, jobs build, test, and e2e-test.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open .github/workflows/ci.yml. Every job sets NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY: ${{ secrets.NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY }}.
  2. Search the app for the key it reads: grep -rn NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE src/lib/supabase src/proxy.ts. It reads NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY, which is also the name in .env.example and CONTRIBUTING.md.
  3. In the e2e-test job, note that playwright install --with-deps chromium installs only Chromium, while playwright.config.ts runs five projects (chromium, firefox, webkit, Mobile Chrome, Mobile Safari).

Actual behavior

  • In CI the Supabase URL is set but the publishable key isn't. The built app can't create a Supabase client, so the e2e tests that sign in can't run there either. With #124 they're skipped when the key is missing.
  • The Firefox, WebKit, and Mobile Safari projects can't launch in CI because those browsers aren't installed. The job is continue-on-error, so it never shows as a failure.

Expected behavior

  • CI passes the key the app reads. One option is NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY: ${{ secrets.<the publishable key secret> }} in the build job and in every job that reuses its output. NEXT_PUBLIC_* values are inlined at build time, so the build job matters most.
  • The e2e job either installs the browsers it runs (playwright install --with-deps) or runs only the installed projects (--project=chromium --project="Mobile Chrome").

The repository secrets can only be checked or changed by the maintainer, so this needs the maintainer to confirm which secret holds the publishable key.
