Start by locating the SDK list and its current hierarchical grouping and filter controls in the macOS app. Add a selectable “Group by version” display mode with minor-version section headers, then verify that the flat list is available when grouping is disabled and that the requested ordering and install actions remain understandable.

Tell us how we can improve Xcodes
Older versions of Xcodes used to show SDKs as a flat list, without collapsible sections.
It would be great to bring that display mode as an option.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
• As a developer, the SDKs I need are typically the latest ones, at the top of the list.
• The current hierarchical list is visually confusing.
• Install buttons next to every major version add to the confusion. Does clicking them install the latest RC in the group, or the latest beta?
• Confusion gets worse when there are two active beta channels simultaneously, like 27.1 and 27.2 currently.
• Expanding/collapsing groups manually is tedious.
• The granularity of sections for every major and minor versions might be overkill.
• A lot of space is wasted because of the collapsible sections and their horizontal indentation.
What would you like to see? How would you like it to work?
• A new "Group by version" item (maybe in the filter list?), selected by default, which would revert to the previous display mode when unselected.
• Tiny section headers to visually delimitate minor versions: "Xcode 27.0", "Xcode 27.1"...
