Current behavior

Only install sdk documents what happens without --yes when there is no terminal ("required outside an interactive terminal whenever a managed runtime is already the active default"). The other commands that prompt do not say whether they refuse, hang, or assume an answer, and none states the default answer to its [y/N] prompt.

For uninstall the help says only "Do not ask for interactive confirmation". The actual behavior without a terminal is a refusal after the plan is printed:

$ rocm uninstall --keep-binaries </dev/null

1

For fix, engines install, install driver, runtimes activate and runtimes rollback the help is equally silent; their runtime behavior off a terminal was not checked.

Expected behavior

Each command whose --yes skips a prompt says, in its help, what happens when stdin is not a terminal and --yes is absent, and what the default answer is. The install sdk wording is a good template.

Additional context

Related: #780 (code-level dedupe of the refusal guard), which does not touch the help text.

  • rocm-cli version: rocm-cli 0.1.0, built from the #782 branch (910b1d8). That branch only refactors the [y/N] prompt helper (#769) without changing its logic; not re-run on main.
