Direzione di ricerca

The proposed theme lives in data/themes/hyphae/, with .gitignore also mentioned; compare it with data/themes/default/ to understand the compatibility requirements. The issue links open pull request #615, so review that work first. Done means a selectable mobile-first theme with the described light and dark modes, accessibility, responsive layouts, icons, and preserved default-theme compatibility.

Proposal. Hypha ships one theme, default, which is desktop-first, light only, and uses web fonts and small icons. Many readers and authors now use a phone, often in dark mode. This proposes a second theme, hyphae, next to default (which stays unchanged), so a site can choose it in the settings.

What it offers

  1. Light and dark mode: follows prefers-color-scheme, plus a switch in the header (system, light, dark) kept in localStorage (no cookie), applied before the page paints, with theme-color for both.
  2. Accessible colours: every text/background pair meets WCAG 2.2 AA (lowest text pair 4.8:1; field borders 4.5:1 where 3:1 is required).
  3. Mobile first: touch targets of at least 44 px, the menu and commands on one scrolling row, the login and new-page popup as a bottom sheet on a phone and a dialog on larger screens, tables that scroll sideways.
  4. Icons for current devices: an SVG favicon that follows the scheme, an apple-touch-icon (180), a web app manifest with 192/512 and maskable icons (Android adaptive safe zone), and the six command icons redrawn on a 24 px grid. The mark is original (a hub with branching threads).
  5. Lighter: the system font stack instead of the Dosis web font; Fork Awesome stays for pages that use it.

Compatibility: every id and class of the default theme that Hypha's PHP and JavaScript use is kept, and the CSS variables of default are mapped on the new tokens, so no PHP changes. .gitignore gets one line to track data/themes/hyphae/ like default.

Not themed yet: WYMeditor keeps its own light look; the share images sit on a white chip in dark mode; the manifest name is a fixed "Hypha" because a theme cannot know the site title.

Tested on a fictional test site with main (d97ab7b) on PHP 8.4, in Chrome at desktop width and as a 402 pt phone, light and dark; not yet on real devices.
