The issue names ICoreWebView2Profile6::IsPasswordAutosaveEnabled, CoreWebView2Profile, ClearBrowsingData, and related issue #3042. Start by reviewing the WebView2 profile API and the existing password autosave and browsing data APIs. Done means deciding whether and how hosts can list credentials without secrets, delete one saved credential, and import passwords, or access the Edge password settings page.

Scritto dal modello di indicizzazione a partire dal testo della issue.

Descrizione

A host that turns on the built-in password manager (ICoreWebView2Profile6::IsPasswordAutosaveEnabled) rather than
building its own vault gets today:

  • on/off — IsPasswordAutosaveEnabled (profile-wide)
  • clear everything — ClearBrowsingData(COREWEBVIEW2_BROWSING_DATA_KINDS_PASSWORD_AUTOSAVE)

Missing for people to rely on it:

  1. list the saved credentials of a profile (origin, username, last used — without the secret) so the host can show them;
  2. delete one credential (origin + username);
  3. import (e.g. the CSV that Chrome and Edge export) — related to the export/import in #3042.

Tried: edge://settings/passwords, edge://password-manager/passwords, edge://settings/autofill in a WebView2 →
net::ERR_INVALID_URL; navigator.credentials.store(new PasswordCredential({ id, password, name })) on a secure origin
with saving on resolves undefined and the profile's Login Data has 0 rows afterwards, so the standard Credential
Management path does not store without the save prompt and cannot serve as an import route.
(WebView2 Runtime on Windows 11, webview2-com 0.39, measured 2026-10-15.)

Suggestion: profile-level API on CoreWebView2Profile for 1–3 (e.g. GetSavedPasswordsAsync returning origin/username/dates
without the secret, DeleteSavedPasswordAsync(origin, username), ImportPasswordsAsync(csvPath)), or making the Edge
password settings page available to hosts that opt in.

Related: #3042 (export/import of saved passwords).
