Direzione di ricerca
Start in docs/guide/numerics/choosing-a-stepper.md, where the device and CPU gallery rows and the paragraph on the Runge-Kutta call count live, then look at docs/guide/figures/stepper-gallery for the CSVs and figures. The generator is not in the repository and the issue depends on the decision in #91, so resolve that first. Done when every device point uses the active-band norm like the CPU points, carries its date and build, and the page's device ratios are updated from those points, or the device rows are removed with a note.

Descrizione
What is wrong
The stepper gallery mixes two error norms. Its device points use the norm over the requested band and its CPU points the norm over the whole active band, the default. The page says the Runge-Kutta march pays up to a fifth more calls under the second, so its device lead of 1.25 to 1.9 times on the canonical capillary and the coupled wall is not on the same footing as the CPU rows. The device timings also predate SEP 39 and #59, which changed the device Adams march substantially.
To do
- Settle #91's decision first: the gallery's generator and error ladder are not in the repository. #91 covers the page's CPU rows and leaves these to this issue.
- Regenerate the AMD and NVIDIA rows under the active-band norm, on the same case list, and redraw the figures and their CSVs.
- Update the page's ratios and the paragraph above, with device and date.
It can share #353's rental, though a gallery is many more runs than a qualification.
Done when
Every device point in docs/guide/figures/stepper-gallery uses the same norm as the CPU points and states its date and build, and the page's device ratios come from those points, or the device rows are removed with a note saying why.
Checked against commit 8a9f764. Takes over the roadmap's entry "The device gallery under the active-band norm".
