Descrizione

To help the user understand what they are looking at and from which direction, the following aids would be useful:

  • When a set of atmospheric variables are loaded and the geometric rendering window is shown, color the surface using the first variable on the selected list.
  • Adjust the initial camera angle so that it becomes more obvious to the user that we are looking at a ragged cylinder, not a 2D surface.
  • Present the outer surface of the ragged cylinder with some transparency; also present the outer surface of the site column with opacity = 1.
  • Show the lev grid with some labels, e.g., 1000, 900, 800, 700, ...
  • Similar to ParaView's "show orientation axis", show 2 arrows pointing Eastward and Northward and label them with "E" and "N", respectively.
  • Given the chosen (and shown) altitude range, allow the user to adjust the aspect ratio between cylinder height and radius.
