Direzione di ricerca
Start by reading application/integration/src/mapData.ts and tracing the existing REDCap API import flow and CSV import modal. Explore how study admins could map differing REDCap fields and review invalid input; the issue proposes this direction but leaves the integration design open. Done means REDCap data can use the CSV import flow for field mapping and validation.

Descrizione
Currently the REDCap participant import via API functionality has two issues:
- it uses hard-coded mapping of redcap fields based entirely off an example redcap instrument set up by Australian Genomics ages ago (
application/integration/src/mapData.ts). Other redcap instruments may have different field names for particpant data. Current approach may result in empty fields. - there is no validation of input from redcap (see screenshot below for an example of malicious prefill data.), nor is there an easy way to include user input validation with current set up (apart from silently dropping emails that have bad prefill data associated with them). It is important to note that PR #937 adds backend user input validation, so any potentially malicious prefill not be saved to the database.
One way to address both of the issues above is to call the REDCap api, and then feed the data to the CSV import modal. This would allow study admins to map diverse field names correctly, while also giving visual feedback about invalid data.
I'm working on #937 PR (related to #891). I propose this issue is out of scope for #937 (beyond adding backend validation).
