Steps to reproduce the bug

Click on an open text message with one of my existing contacts - to add another message to an existing conversation.

Type a message less than 160 characters.

Press either return or the send icon.

Result: directly under the new mesage the word "Sending ... " appears - no message is sent ... the word Sending never goes away!

All permissions are granted.

Apparenty I have received no text messages since I used F-Droid to install this app an hour ago ... or else it cannot receive messages either.

Expected behavior

I expected a message to be sent.

Actual behavior

It has been "Sending" multiple message for at least a half hour and NO message has actually been sent yet.

Additional information

The app isn't hung - settings can be opened. The messages I tried sending show up in the messages list but when I tap on one it srtill shows "Sending ..." below the message just like in the screenshots ... just never sent.

I have sent valid bug reports to two other developers in the last week and gone through several testing builds for them - one here at github - and one at Codeberg.
