The payload names no files, tests or entry points, so start by reading CONTRIBUTING.md and locating where the keyboard layout is defined in the Kotlin Android source. The issue only says 'similar to Gboard' and does not specify the behaviour, so 'done' needs a maintainer-agreed design for how the keys shift and how it is toggled first. Ask on the issue for that design before writing code.
