The payload names no source files, so the first step is to find the existing .vcf import flow in the Kotlin Android app and see how contacts are written and where groups are handled. The request needs a group-picker prompt on import (with option to create a new group) and an update-or-discard prompt for duplicate contacts; the open design questions should be settled with maintainers before coding. Done means both prompts appear during a vCard import and the chosen group is applied to every imported contact.

Feature description

Hi, I wolud like to suggest a feature to "better import" contacts into Fossify Contacts from desktop software like Thunderbird.

The feature is simple:

when a .vcf file (saved from a specific Address Book in Thunderbird) is imported into Fossify Contacts, a prompt message should ask the user if he want to import all the contacts into a specific group (with possibility to create also a new group on the fly).

In case of duplicated contact, the software should prompt for "update existing contacts" or "discard".

Why do you want this feature?

A better way to quickly update contacts form desktop software that support . vcf file but has multiple Address Book.
