The payload names no source file, so start by reproducing the bug: change the app language in its settings and check whether the displayed strings follow the selection. Then find where the app reads and applies the chosen locale at startup, and trace why a stale Spanish locale persists after switching to English or System default. Done means the selected language is displayed after a restart and after switching back to System default, confirmed by manual testing or an added test.

Steps to reproduce the bug

I simply installed the app and started using it, and a few minutes later realized that almost all of the text had somehow turned to Spanish. When I went to check language settings, it still said "System default (English)". I changed it to straight up "English" and all of the text turned Spanish. I'm just lucky I do speak Spanish 😭
