Direzione di ricerca

Start by locating the existing UiFontPolicy and the Avalonia application resource configuration. Review how the Windows Segoe UI logic is applied, then determine how a bundled OFL-licensed font could become the default only on Linux and macOS. Done means typography is consistent on both platforms while Windows behavior remains unchanged.

Describe your issue

Currently, UniGetUI explicitly manages its default UI font on Windows through UiFontPolicy, while on Linux and macOS it leaves the font unspecified and lets Avalonia resolve the platform default.

This is reasonable from a native-platform perspective, but it also means UniGetUI's typography can vary substantially depending on the Linux distribution, desktop environment, installed fonts, and fontconfig configuration. Since much of the UI was originally designed around Segoe UI/WinUI metrics, some system defaults can make spacing, control sizing, and the overall appearance noticeably different.

Would it make sense to bundle a known UI font with the Avalonia application and use it as the default on Linux and macOS?

For example, an OFL-licensed font such as Selawik or Inter could be shipped as an application resource. Windows could continue using the existing Segoe UI-based logic, while Linux and macOS would get a predictable primary font regardless of what is installed on the host.
