Direzione di ricerca

The issue identifies the standalone macOS installer and VPN extension, but names no source files or tests. First trace how the client detects extension state and displays status messages, then assess whether reporting that state to Defguard core is in scope. Done means users can see when the extension needs enabling; any administrator reporting behavior needs a defined scope.

Problem description

About this: https://docs.defguard.net/using-defguard-for-end-users/desktop-client#stand-alone-installation

On macOS using the standalone installer, the user is not aware he has to enable the VPN extension.
This is only visible in the logs as an INFO event.
You have it documented, we have it documented, but still some users will overlook this.

The antivirus product we use also requires enabling certain permissions on macOS, so it can fully detect/protect the device. When this is not done, it displays a message in the agent about it.

Proposed solution

Can Defguard detect if the VPN extension has to be enabled, and display a message in the UI about it?
Maybe even also report it to defguard core, so administrators are aware which devices have not done this.
