Start by reproducing on the sandbox search page: enter an author string with no results, then clear the author filter and check whether the author facet disappears. The payload names no source files, so locate the facet and search-filter code yourself before changing anything. Done means the facet stays visible across repeated search and filter-removal cycles, and the page keeps loading in the Firefox case; the bug is intermittent, so expect to need several repetitions to confirm a fix.

Describe the bug

I was doing test T067 in the DSpace 10.0 Testathon. I searched for the name given in the test, but there was no result. When I removed the filter to search for another author, the entire author facete on the right side disappeared. I tried to recreate the bug a few times, but it was pretty inconsistent. Maybe every five times I removed the filter the author facete would disappear. Even rarer, sometimes the entire page would stop loading. I have attached two videos showing both bugs.

  1. Filmed on Edge 146.0.3856.109. The bug happens on the first try.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Got to https://sandbox.dspace.org/home or https://sandbox.dspace.org/search.
  2. Type any string into the "Search author name" field that won't have a result.
  3. Remove the filter again.

Expected behavior

I can search and remove the filter as often as I want without it disappearing.
