Context

Known behaviour from plan 3 Task 8: a high exact_count_threshold setting makes filtered counts scan up to that many rows; they hold the browse connection until done and have no user-facing cancel. Several filter minors from Task 2 and Task 6 are grouped here.

To do

  • Add a user-facing cancel for a running filtered count (Cancelled state in the grid footer, count shown as approximate afterwards); avoid holding the whole browse connection if possible.
  • ILIKE on MySQL _bin collations is case-sensitive: fall back to LOWER() comparison or document it in the filter hint.
  • The any-column filter does not see PostgreSQL bytea[] as binary.
  • PostgreSQL simple-query path maps errors with map_err, not map_live_err (lost-connection classification).
  • MySQL filtered path takes about 5 round trips: merge DEALLOCATE and the variable clear; a KILL in the middle of cleanup may leave session variables set.
  • ILIKE typed in the quick bar is accepted on MySQL / SQLite: hint LIKE instead.

Acceptance criteria

  • A filtered count above the threshold can be cancelled from the UI and the grid stays usable.
  • Each minor fixed with a test or documented.
  • pnpm test && pnpm lint green (plus cargo clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings and pnpm test:rust when Rust changes)
