Found on santos/dev2 at 008363c98 (#1410). It reaches dev when #1410 merges.

What happened

The /skill picker scans this machine's skill folders in a hosted conversation. Enter on a local-only row can draw its attachment chip, while the far session has no matching shelf fact and omits it from the turn. This follows from the code; the two-machine hand test has not been run.

Replication

Deterministic (no model). Put a valid skill only in the client's home, use a hosted-agent test double whose SkillFacts returns an empty shelf and whose AttachSkills accepts the name, then open /skill. The row is listed and attachable; the subsequent turn has no skill block.

Field (real models). Use --host pointed at this same machine over ssh, as docs/remote-access-testing.md §3.0 does, with distinct client and host homes. Put local-only solely in the client home, attach it, and send a message. Check for the chip and absence of · skills · local-only. Use OPENROUTER_API_KEY and deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash; allow a minute and a small charge. This hand test is proposed, not observed.

The fix

On a hosted conversation, mark a client-only row unavailable or resolve attachment against the far shelf before drawing its chip.

Acceptance

  • e2e: through codeaf chat --host over ssh, a local-only skill is identified as unavailable and no attachment chip is drawn.
  • Unit: a hosted picker test distinguishes client discovery from far shelf membership.
  • Update the remote skills manual and invalidates.
