Direzione di ricerca

Start from the startup speed check, which writes to speed.log, and find where the processorOnly setting in settings.json is read relative to the benchmark launch. Reproducing needs a Windows machine with a Kaby Lake CPU, and the crash dump under CrashDumps is the main evidence. Done means the app starts on that CPU without 0xc0000005 and respects processorOnly.

What happens
Describe the bug

DigUp (v0.7.0-beta.3) crashes silently on startup during the initial hardware speed check on a Windows 11 host. The indexer never starts, and all logs remain at 0 KB except for speed.log.

The app works fine inside a Windows 10 VirtualBox on the exact same machine, likely because the VM abstracts the CPU instructions or forces a fallback path.

Environment
  • OS: Windows 11 Home/Pro (Host)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7500U @ 2.70GHz (7th Generation Kaby Lake)
  • DigUp Version: v0.7.0-beta.3
  • Settings: "processorOnly": true is enabled in settings.json, but the speed check still triggers the crash.
Log Output

From %LOCALAPPDATA%\com.abdurrahim.DigUp\logs\speed.log:

speed check from 15:24: {"error":"exit exit code: 0xc0000005","event":"speed"}

Windows also generates a crash dump (digup.exe.xxxx.dmp) under AppData\Local\CrashDumps immediately upon launch.

Expected behavior

The speed check should handle older AVX/AVX2 instruction limits on 7th-gen Intel mobile processors without throwing an Access Violation (0xc0000005) or it should respect the "processorOnly": true flag prior to executing the speed benchmark.
