Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reviewing how xvec is currently built and which hosted-library assumptions it makes, then compare those assumptions with -ffreestanding and STDC_HOSTED. Done should be defined as xvec building and supporting OS features, drivers, and embedded systems in freestanding mode.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

C++29 extension enhancement

Allow xvec to be used to build OS features and drivers, embedded systems, and so on. This is enabled by -ffreestanding and can be detected using __STDC_HOSTED__ (0 for freestanding, 1 for full library availability).
