Research direction

Review the referenced FireFly issue 189 first, then inspect how DX handles API calls, message sends, errors, and retries and how prom-client could be introduced. Done means an agreed set of Prometheus metrics covers the listed counts and durations, including errors and retries, with clear scope for future expansion.

Description

good first issue

Similar to https://github.com/hyperledger/firefly/issues/189, it'd be great if DX had Prometheus metrics for API call count and durations, messages sent and message request durations, errors / retries, etc.

We can leverage https://github.com/siimon/prom-client to get some basic metrics added quickly and then build from there.
