Research direction

This is an uninvestigated user report of read-only filesystem errors on every Codex 0.155.0+ startup, with a retry-outside-sandbox workaround. Start from agmsg’s Codex integration and any startup writes under writable_roots, and compare with the linked upstream openai/codex issue 46388. Done means identifying whether agmsg is hitting the sandbox or the bug is purely upstream, then a fix or a documented workaround—not a speculative patch.

Description

user-feedback

User report on X (2026-09-24, #agmsg), quoted as posted:

#agmsg codex で起動するたびに「read only file system」とかエラーが出るようになった
「サンドボックス外で再試行」させると解決するんだけど、毎度指示が面倒
どうも最近 0.155.0以降で出るようになったみたい
バージョン戻すと GPT-6 が使えなくなる

The poster links the upstream Codex issue https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/46388 (Windows, CLI 0.155.0 sandbox init regression).

Filed as received. Whether agmsg's Codex integration (e.g. writes under writable_roots at startup) is the thing hitting the read-only error, or this is purely the upstream regression, has not been investigated.
