Summary

The built-in surface has a few inconsistencies. Found in the 0.14.0 docs audit.

Current behavior

  • runtimeGlobals is incomplete. Goccia.runtimeGlobals lists only globals registered through RegisterRuntimeGlobalName: EventTarget, Event, AbortController, AbortSignal, plus FFI, timers or test assertions when installed. Console, Performance, TextEncoder/TextDecoder, URL/URLSearchParams, fetch, Headers and Response never register.

  • Performance constructor messages differ. new Performance() throws Performance is not a constructor, while Performance() throws Illegal constructor.

  • goccia:ast drops the file name. parse(src, { fileName }) never puts the file name in the syntax-error message (Expected variable name (1:7)); fileName only affects the JSX extension warning.

  • CSV.parseChunk and TSV.parseChunk disagree on an unterminated final row:

    • CSV consumes it: parseChunk("a,b\n1,2\n3") returns done: true with {a:"3", b:""}.
    • TSV leaves it unread: done: false.

    Neither is tested, and the CSV behaviour contradicts the resume model JSONL documents.

Expected behavior

  • runtimeGlobals lists every runtime global the host installed.
  • Performance throws the same "Illegal constructor" TypeError in both forms.
  • goccia:ast includes fileName in syntax-error messages.
  • CSV and TSV parseChunk agree, most likely on TSV's resumable behaviour, with tests.

Scope notes

The docs are being corrected to describe the current behaviour until these are fixed.
