Start by reproducing the failure with rustup toolchain list in Termux after rustup self update; the issue gives the error and the settings file contents but names no source file or test. Trace how rustup reads ~/.rustup/settings.toml and handles shared file locks on Termux, then identify or add coverage for that path. Done when toolchain listing no longer fails with lock_shared() not supported.

DISCUSSION:
Rustup installs The Rust Programming Language from the official
release channels, enabling you to easily switch between stable,
beta, and nightly compilers and keep them updated. It makes
cross-compiling simpler with binary builds of the standard library
    for common platforms.

If you are new to Rust consider running `rustup doc --book` to
    learn Rust.
