Piste de recherche

The issue names no source files or tests. Start by tracing how pa app push handles logoPath and how solution export/import preserves app metadata; the payload indicates the icon must be stored by the Power Apps app service, not just in Dataverse file columns. Done means the icon and background color survive push and solution import and appear on the Android app-list tile.

Description

bug
Describe the bug

A code app shows a blank tile (no icon, white background) in the app list of the Power Apps mobile app (Android), while the canvas apps in the same environment show their icon. There is no supported way to give a code app an icon:

  • power.config.json contains "logoPath": "Default", and the Power Apps CLI describes the option as "Path to the app logo file", but pa app push does not use it – the push command contains no logo or icon handling at all.
  • pa app set-setting only supports --show-header (plus customizeRequestAccess in the config schema) – no icon or background-color setting.
  • The code app's canvasapp row in Dataverse has backgroundcolor = RGBA(255,255,255,1). Uploading a PNG directly into its file columns large_icon, medium_icon and small_icon (Dataverse file API) is accepted and can be read back, but has no effect on the tile in the mobile app – so the icon is read from another source (the Power Apps app service), which only pa app push can fill.
To reproduce
  1. pa app init, put a logo file in the project and set "logoPath": "./public/logo.png" in power.config.json.
  2. npm run build and pa app push --solution-id <id>.
  3. Open the Power Apps mobile app (Android) → the app list → the code app tile is blank; canvas apps in the same environment show their icon.
Expected behavior

A code app can carry an app icon and a tile background color, like the other Power Platform app types:

Product How the icon works today
Canvas apps Settings → General → Icon: choose a built-in icon or upload an image, plus a background color. Shown in the app list on the web, in the mobile app and in Teams; travels with the solution (in the app package plus <BackgroundColor> in the solution's CanvasApp metadata).
Model-driven apps The app designer → Icon: an SVG web resource, linked to the app module; shown on the app tile and travels with the solution.
Teams apps The app manifest has a color icon (192×192) and an outline icon (32×32).
Progressive web apps The web app manifest's icons array (several sizes) plus theme_color / background_color.
Proposal
  • pa app push uploads the image in logoPath (PNG/SVG) as the app icon – or a setting such as pa app set-setting --icon <path> --background-color <#RRGGBB>.
  • The icon and background color travel in the solution export (as for canvas apps), so an ALM import (pipelines, pac solution import) keeps them.
Environment
  • Power Apps CLI pa 1.3.0, @microsoft/power-apps 1.5.0
  • Power Apps mobile app (Android), app list
  • App published with pa app push and through a solution import – same result
