Description

Description

When stopping a recording with GraphMinimalPermissionsPlugin, no minimal permissions are reported. The plugin fails because the external permissions service responds with an HTML 403 Ip Forbidden page instead of JSON. We tested from three different networks in Spain (home broadband, an office network and a mobile phone hotspot) with the same result, and a teammate hit the same error on their own setup.

Expected behaviour

The minimal permissions for the recorded requests are reported.

Actual behaviour

No permissions are reported. Dev Proxy prints:

An error has occurred while retrieving minimal permissions:
System.Text.Json.JsonException: '<' is an invalid start of a value.

Calling the service directly (outside Dev Proxy) shows the cause: the response is HTTP/1.1 403 Ip Forbidden with an x-ms-forbidden-ip header, which suggests an IP restriction on the service side. (I've left out the IP address on purpose.)

Steps to reproduce
  1. Enable GraphMinimalPermissionsPlugin (tested with type: delegated and type: application).
  2. Run devproxy --urls-to-watch https://graph.microsoft.com/* --record.
  3. Send a few Graph requests (sites, lists, columns, items, drives).
  4. Stop the recording.

Additional Info

Possibly related to #1012, where the service URL had changed. Is the permissions service restricted by IP or region on purpose? If so, it would help if the plugin reported a clear message instead of a JSON parsing error.
