This is a request to promote a commercial API provider in the docs, not a neutral documentation gap. Before any writing, a maintainer needs to decide whether a third-party paid provider belongs in the AI feature docs at all, and the issue's listing-for-listing exchange needs a decision too. If the maintainers agree, the work is a short docs note on configuring a custom OpenAI-compatible provider through createOpenAI({ baseURL }) for the AI features, with no provider branding. Done means the maintainers have accepted the scope and the note is reviewed.

Description

Hi. I run DemonRoute, an API key service for open-weight models behind one OpenAI-compatible endpoint. No subscription. You bring your own key and point the base URL at us.

CodeceptJS already has the mechanism for this. The AI features run on the Vercel AI SDK, and createOpenAI({ baseURL }) accepts any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. What is missing is a documented example of that path.

The ask: add a short docs note showing a custom provider configured with a DemonRoute base URL and key, so users can run the AI self-healing and analysis features on open-weight models instead of only the named providers.

Why it fits here: test runs burn a lot of tokens on code that teams would rather not send to a big provider that trains on it. We never train on user data. The catalog leads with Dolphin, MythoMax, Hermes, and abliterated Llama and Qwen builds — models that are hard to find on the big routers, at a fraction of frontier cost.

I built DemonRoute after becoming the largest NFT artist on the third-largest chain overnight, with zero funding, then consulting for Fortune 500s, celebrities, and emerging tech companies on my name and my work. I build things repo by repo, in the open, and I am asking directly instead of pretending this is not a provider request.

If DemonRoute gets listed, any app that lists us as a provider option gets listed on demonroute.com/integrations in return. Other projects already listed there: https://demonroute.com/integrations

Thanks for considering it.

Jeremy, DemonRoute
