Piste de recherche

Read the tracker’s current-state and scope sections, then choose a specific unchecked item with its own linked issue, such as device build support (#1176) or foreground material vibrancy (#1178). Start with that linked issue; this tracker spans build, CI, rendering, frameworks, and API availability, so it does not identify a single code entry point. Done means completing the chosen subtask and meeting its stated outcome.

Summary

Track the work to support visionOS in OpenSwiftUI. The changes land as a stack of pull requests. Each item below links to its own issue or pull request when it starts.

Current state

  • visionOS Simulator support is experimental.
  • OpenSwiftUI builds for the visionOS Simulator with the public SDK and a UIKit header overlay. CI builds it but does not run tests.
  • visionOS device build support is in progress (#1176).

Scope

Build and CI
  • Build for the visionOS Simulator with the public SDK and a UIKit header overlay, and add a visionOS Simulator build job to CI (#1156).
  • Build for visionOS devices with the UIKit header overlay (#1176).
  • Run tests on the visionOS Simulator in CI.
Rendering and hosting
  • Fix the crash for default foreground content on visionOS by resolving the foreground material style with system colors (#1173).
  • Implement foreground material vibrancy on visionOS (#1178).
  • Verify the UIKit hosting view behavior on visionOS: display link, contents scale, safe area, and keyboard insets.
Private frameworks
  • Provide visionOS device and Simulator slices in DarwinPrivateFrameworks for AttributeGraph, RenderBox, CoreUI, BacklightServices, CoreSVG, SFSymbols, and FeatureFlags (OpenSwiftUIProject/DarwinPrivateFrameworks#78).
  • Link CoreSVG, SFSymbols, and FeatureFlags on visionOS. Gestures stays excluded, because visionOS 2.5 has no Gestures framework (#1176).
  • Provide visionOS device and Simulator slices in the Compute release (https://github.com/OpenSwiftUIProject/Compute/releases/tag/0.6.0-bugfix.2).
API availability
  • Update visionOS availability for APIs that the visionOS 26 SDK makes available, for example sensoryFeedback.

Acceptance criteria

  • OpenSwiftUI builds and its tests run on the visionOS Simulator in CI with a standard Xcode installation.
  • The Example apps run on the visionOS Simulator without visionOS-specific workarounds.
