The issue says to use the invite's own email when the stored prefill lacks one, while considering the unauthenticated-link concern and related #954. Verify that modal and REDCap invites prefill the email and that existing prefill values are preserved.

admin-client backend question

When an admin invites someone from the invite modal or through a REDCap import, the registration page opens with the email field empty. The participant has to type the address the invite went to, and registration looks the invite up by its ID and that email together (application/backend/src/controllers/AuthController.ts:211), so a typo fails with "Invite for … not found".

Register fills the email only from the invite's prefill (application/user-client/src/pages/Register.tsx:103), and GET /invites/{inviteId}/prefill returns the stored prefill as it is.

  • The invite modal's prefill only carries studyParticipant.externalId (application/admin-client/src/components/InviteModal.tsx:49, :87, :228).
  • The REDCap import removes the email before it builds the prefill (application/backend/src/controllers/IntegrationsController.ts:340).
  • The CSV import keeps profile.email in the prefill (application/admin-client/src/pages/participants/list.tsx:479-485), so that path should already prefill, though I haven't checked it in a browser. #937 currently removes it from the CSV prefill too.

Fix: have the prefill endpoint fill in the invite's own email when the stored prefill has none, so every invite path gets it. The endpoint needs no login, so this adds the email to what an invite link shows, the same concern as #954. If #954 adds an email check before the form, carry the checked email into the form instead.
