Research direction

Start by reviewing the project's dependency declarations, then run uv run pytest -q backend/tests/test_assistant_tools.py backend/tests/test_assistant_graph.py backend/tests/test_orbit_sdk.py backend/tests/test_api.py to reproduce the warning. Identify a compatible Starlette/AnyIO version set that preserves FastAPI and test-client behavior, and verify that all 121 tests pass without the deprecation warning.

Description

help wanted testing

Summary

The backend test suite passes, but emits a dependency deprecation warning from starlette.testclient:

starlette.testclient uses the deprecated anyio.abc.BlockingPortal alias.

Expected outcome

Update Starlette and AnyIO to a compatible version set that removes this warning while preserving FastAPI and test-client compatibility.

Reproduction

uv run pytest -q backend/tests/test_assistant_tools.py backend/tests/test_assistant_graph.py backend/tests/test_orbit_sdk.py backend/tests/test_api.py

Current result

  • 121 tests pass.
  • One deprecation warning is emitted from starlette.testclient.

Contribution notes

Please propose a compatible dependency version set and include the relevant full test results so we can verify FastAPI, Starlette, and AnyIO compatibility together.
