Research direction

The listed Chapter 6 revisions are marked complete and were handled in pull request #40. Read that pull request to see the changes and avoid duplicating work; the issue also directs Chapter 7 restructuring and Section 6.5 decisions to the separate “Points for discussion” issue. There is no remaining task described here to complete.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

metaror-review

Author revisions for Chapter 6 (Execution of Replications) from the MetaROR reviews (R1, R2, R3).

  • Section 6.2.1 (Small Telescope): Rewrite the explanation for clarity — the "rule of thumb" from Simonsohn (2015) is currently insufficiently explained. (R1) (in #40)
  • Section 6.2.1: Link the Small Telescope approach to the Open Science Collaboration (2015) reproducibility study. (R2) (in #40)
  • Section 6.3: Tie changes in methods back to deductive/inductive reasoning and underlying theory. (R1) — coordinate with the framework-integration task in Cross-cutting editorial changes. (in #40)
  • Section 6.4 (Piloting): Rewrite to better link the two paragraphs. (R1) (in #40)
  • Section 6.1: Review for replication-specific content — much of it is general preregistration advice that may already be familiar to the target audience. (R3) (in #40)

Handled in other issues:

  • Merge Chapter 7 into Chapter 6 / Chapter 7 restructuring → Points for discussion
  • Section 6.5 (Adversarial Collaborations) — expand or remove → Points for discussion
