Research direction

Start by locating the Git Proxy website homepage source and reviewing its current content alongside the flyer text in this issue; the issue does not name a file or test. Done when the homepage reflects the flyer’s introduction and key points, and no longer shows the mismatched mocked-up CLI video.

Description

documentation good first issue help wanted

We've updated the Git proxy flyer content to better introduce Git proxy - the same content should be applied ot the Git Proxy website homepage - which currently features a mocked up video of a CLI tool that doesn't match the CLI that actually exists.

Flyer content:

GITPROXY

Open source contribution.
With your guardrails.

GitProxy is an open source policy and control layer between developers and Git hosting platforms.
It intercepts Git pushes and applies configurable checks and workflows before changes reach the remote repository, helping organisations combine the familiar open source contribution experience with their own security, legal and compliance requirements. [github.com], [git-proxy.finos.org]

Keep Git. Add the controls you need.

🔍 Inspect
Analyse pushes before they leave your organisation, including commits, authors, diffs and secrets. GitProxy's processing chain includes commit and author checks, hidden-commit detection, diff analysis and Gitleaks secret scanning. [git-proxy.finos.org], [github.com]

🛡️ Enforce
Apply repository access rules, commit policies, pre-receive hooks and approval workflows at the point of push. [git-proxy.finos.org], [git-proxy.finos.org]

🔌 Extend
Add organisation-specific controls using configurable plugins, distributed as standard npm packages or loaded as JavaScript modules. [git-proxy.finos.org]

🌐 Work across Git platforms
GitProxy is no longer tied to GitHub. Version 2 introduced support for GitLab and other Git hosts, and one instance can proxy multiple hosts. Git operations can use HTTP/HTTPS or SSH. [github.com], [github.com]

Security controls without changing how developers work
Developers continue to branch, commit and push with Git. GitProxy sits in the path to the remote Git service, evaluates the push, and either blocks it with feedback or allows it through the configured workflow. [github.com], [git-proxy.finos.org]
