Research direction

Start by reading the linked parent issue #371 and the dedicated schema and file config issues this work depends on; this issue does not name implementation files or tests. The requested entry point is createSeamlessAuth({ db, config }), returning an Express router and a fetch handler for frameworks such as Next, Hono, and Remix. Done means supporting injected config, lifecycle hooks, pluggable stores, and in-process transport without an HTTP hop or service token.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

easy enhancement P4 v1.0

Part of fells-code/seamless-auth-api#371.

createSeamlessAuth({ db, config }) returning an Express router and a fetch handler (Next, Hono, Remix), running the API in the adopter's process from the same codebase.

  • Injected config instead of global env reads
  • Start and stop hooks for background work (audit retention)
  • Pluggable rate limit and signing key stores
  • In-process transport in seamless-auth-server (no HTTP hop, no service token)

Contract-affecting for seamless-auth-server. Depends on the dedicated schema and file config issues.
