Research direction

Start by inspecting config/ast_defaults.yaml and the docker-compose configuration to understand how the BigIP password is currently populated. Implement and verify support for reading the password from the Docker Swarm secret path /run/secrets/bigip_password, with the password no longer exposed as an environment variable.

Description

Describe the bug
We would like the ability to use secrets from docker swarm to populate the BigIP password so that the password is not visible as an environment variable when running docker inspect.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. In the config/ast_defaults.yaml file, it appears the only way to set the password is to either hard code the password or use the env option (e.g. password: "${env:BIGIP_PASSWORD_1}")

Expected behavior
It would be beneficial to modify the docker-compose file to insert a docker swarm secret and reference that secret file to populate the password instead (e.g. password: "${file:/run/secrets/bigip_password}"
