Research direction

Reproduce the failure with Etherpad-Desktop-0.4.4.appimage on Debian GNU/Linux Sid amd64 using the commands in the report. Start at the createUpdater entry point in resources/app.asar/out/main/index.cjs and trace the boot call that sets autoDownload. Done means the AppImage completes boot without the reported TypeError.
