Línea de trabajo

The report centers on RobotController.setBrownoutVoltages called in the Java Robot constructor, and on the SystemStats/FaultCounts/Brownout and SystemStats/Faults/Brownout logged fields. Start by reading how the configured brownout voltage is applied and how the brownout fault is counted and logged. Done means the battery reaches the configured threshold before browning out and the fault counter increments. The thread has no decision yet, so confirm scope with maintainers before writing a fix.

Descripción

At Beach Blitz, we set our brownout voltage with the new API:

public Robot() {
    Logger.recordMetadata("CO 2026", "MyProject"); // Set a metadata value
    var hootLogging = SignalLogger.enableAutoLogging(false);
    if(!hootLogging.isOK()){
      DriverStationErrors.reportWarning("Failed to disable CTRE hoot auto-logging", false);
    }

    m_robotContainer = new RobotContainer();

    RobotController.setBrownoutVoltages(5.0, 5.5);
    ...

However, we observed brownout behavior close to the default 6.75 V. Here are three matches, two of which our robot browned out in. Note that there are two things that are seemingly issues:

  1. The battery voltage never drops below ~6.25 V despite the setting to brownout at 5 V.
  2. The SystemStats/FaultCounts/Brownout field never increments (and SystemStats/Faults/Brownout never goes true).

I can't attach the logs, which are too large, but can share them if desired.

https://github.com/Spectrum3847/2026-FM-SystemCore/pull/127 seems to point to a similar issue.
