Start with apps/www/src/app/(app)/docs/[[...slug]]/doc-page.tsx at lines 76–77 and compare how it selects the Chinese page with the English fallback. Then inspect content/docs/underline.cn.mdx alongside the English page; the report says the Chinese file exists but appears unused, while footnote and pagination lack Chinese files. Done means Chinese translations render when present and readers get an explicit fallback indication when a page has no translation.

Summary

After switching the docs language to 中文, many /cn/docs pages show only the site navigation in Chinese. The title, the text and the demo stay in English, with nothing that says the page has no translation. Sin hit it on /cn/docs/footnote, /cn/docs/pagination and /cn/docs/underline, on a desktop and on an Android phone, and reported that switching to Chinese still shows English. The switch itself works. platejs.org/cn shows English on these pages too, so this gap is shared with the released site.

Reproduction

Repro 1: /cn/docs/underline, Android Via

Recorded in Sin's session on 2026-10-24 (Beijing time), on a TYH212U phone (Android 11) in Via 5.6.1, which uses the system WebView 147.

  1. Open https://beta.platejs.org/docs/underline.
  2. Tap the language button at the top right and pick 中文.

Result: the URL becomes /cn/docs/underline, and the menu label changes to 菜单. The title Underline, its description and the Text Formatting demo stay in English. https://platejs.org/cn/docs/underline in Via is in English too.

Repro 2: other pages, desktop
  • /cn/docs/footnote and /cn/docs/pagination: an agent following Sin's report opened both in Safari 27 on 2026-10-21. The navigation is Chinese, and the text and examples are English.
  • /cn/docs/underline: an agent saw the same in a desktop Chromium 154 browser on 2026-10-23.

Expected

The Chinese page shows the docs in Chinese. That is Sin's expectation. Where a page has no translation yet, the reader gets English with no hint that it is a fallback.

Actual

As listed under Results.

Environment

  • Exact next commit/Beta package version: NOT_ENOUGH_INFO. The pages do not show their build.
  • Repro 1: TYH212U, Android 11, Via 5.6.1 with the system WebView 147, 2026-10-24 (Beijing time).
  • Repro 2: Safari 27 on macOS, 2026-10-21; Chromium 154 on a desktop, 2026-10-23.
  • Not tried on an iPhone. Not replayed on the live Beta after 2026-10-24.

Caveat

From a reading of the code and content on next 19023d2e3d:

  • The docs route loads the Chinese page and falls back to the English one when there is none (apps/www/src/app/(app)/docs/[[...slug]]/doc-page.tsx:76-77).
  • content/docs has 208 English .mdx pages and 118 .cn.mdx pages, so about 90 pages have no Chinese file. footnote and pagination are among them.
  • underline.cn.mdx exists but holds no Chinese text. The deployed /cn/docs/underline also showed the English page's description, Add underlined inline text., which underline.cn.mdx does not have. Why the Chinese file was not used was not checked.

  • Repro 1: the recording from Sin's session, 0:26, the phone screen on the left and an English panel on the right. The language menu opens at 0:02, and from 0:18 the page is /cn/docs/underline with Chinese navigation and English content. An internal record number in the panel title is covered with a dark box.
