Port the Azure DevOps origin-recognition behavior used for repository-and-branch session discovery:

  • Accept supported username-prefixed modern and legacy HTTPS clone URLs. Derive the organization from the host/path, never the username.
  • Recognize unambiguous project-omitted HTTPS forms, including applicable DefaultCollection prefixes. Use the decoded repository name without its optional .git suffix for the omitted project; never treat the collection segment as that project.
  • Retain strict segment validation, a single recognized origin, exact branch matching, conservative handling of malformed/ambiguous remotes, and the existing GitHub-only remote-control boundary. Do not log credentials or modify Git configuration/session state.
  • Apply the same identity to session listing, automatic/latest resume, selector candidates, completion, and directory overrides.
  • Add deterministic tests for accepted modern/legacy/SSH forms, username-vs-organization differences, omitted projects, encoded and malformed paths, multiple origins, moved worktrees, and conflicting metadata; update relevant help/release notes.

No bash implementation is included in the upstream change.
