Línea de trabajo

Start by reading react-strict-dom's native prop handling and the mapping for aria-label to accessibilityLabel, then check the native prop allowlist. Add coverage for aria-description on an html.button and confirm it reaches React Native as accessibilityHint; done means the hint is preserved on native while the web behavior remains appropriate.

Descripción

Describe the feature request

On native, there is no way to give an html.* element an accessibility hint (iOS accessibilityHint, read by VoiceOver after the element's name; Android TalkBack reads it too).

The web counterpart is aria-description (or aria-describedby). Today react-strict-dom 0.0.55's native prop handling keeps neither: aria-description is not mapped, and accessibilityHint passed directly is dropped by the native prop allowlist, so a component built on html.button cannot carry a hint.

Proposal: map aria-description (a string) to accessibilityHint on native, the way aria-label maps to accessibilityLabel.

Use case: a design system's Tooltip on touch devices. With no hover, the tooltip text is never drawn; the accessible equivalent is the trigger's hint. Without the mapping, each trigger has to swap its html.button host for a React Native Pressable just to set accessibilityHint, which loses react-strict-dom's styling and press handling on that host.

Version

react-strict-dom 0.0.55, React Native 0.81.5 (Expo SDK 54).
