The revealjs docs show slides with no title, for example ## {background-color="aquamarine"} in Slide Backgrounds Without a Title and ## {auto-animate=true} in Auto Animate. Each of these slides renders an empty <h2>. Screen reader users who move by headings land on a heading with no name, and axe reports empty-heading.

Authors can avoid the empty <h2> and still show no title. Put the title in a span with the .visually-hidden class:

In Quarto 1.11.4, the title does not show on the slide, but Chrome's accessibility tree has heading "Aquamarine slide" [level=2]. The slide menu also lists "Aquamarine slide", not the first words of the slide text. The class works in revealjs, because Quarto defines its own .visually-hidden (_quarto-rules.scss L12-L22). The revealjs theme includes that file (format-reveal-theme.ts L177).

quarto.org does not document this pattern, and there is a trap: ## Title {.visually-hidden} hides the whole slide. In revealjs, Pandoc moves heading classes to the <section>.

Suggestion: In Slide Backgrounds Without a Title, show the .visually-hidden span as the way to have no visible title, and warn about the class on the heading. Auto Animate could link to it.
