Línea de trabajo

The issue reports corruption while replying to a comment in a long document and mentions incremental writer issues #963, #964, and #965, but gives no reliable reproduction steps or file or test names. Start by reading those related issues and tracing the comment reply editing path alongside the incremental writer. Done means reproducing and fixing the unintended text changes, with a regression test showing nearby lines remain intact.

Descripción

Summary

While I added a short reply to a comment, the editor inserted truncated copies of nearby lines in three places. I was the only person editing, and one of the stray lines broke rendering for the whole document.

What happened
  • A bullet was duplicated as a cut-off line.
  • The heading "Code: where the changes go" was reduced to just "go".
  • Three truncated copies of one sentence appeared.

The truncated bullet contained an unclosed **, so the document failed to render. File history shows the stray lines in my own edits, so they didn't come from another collaborator.

Steps to reproduce

I don't have reliable repro steps. It happened while replying to an existing comment in a long document.

Impact

The editor changed text I never touched, without any visible sign. I only noticed because the render failed. If the stray text had been valid markdown, it could easily have gone unnoticed and been shared with reviewers.
