The payload names no source files. Start from the stack trace: AuthorizationFailureException wraps a FileNotFoundException raised while fetching the private-channel auth endpoint (/api/pusher-customer-auth/), and the leaked-connection warning suggests a response body is never closed. Reproduce by throttling the network or adding a delay in the auth request path, then find where the auth HTTP call and its response handling live. Done means a private subscription succeeds on a slow connection or fails with a clear, handled error, with a test covering the timeout or retry path.

What is the issue?

I'm getting following issue most of the time when I am on 3G/4G connection. Sometimes it works, though.

It works perfectly when I'm on a fast wifi. The exception doesn't justify a slow connection.
The pusher gets connected immediately but subscribing to a private channel throws this error.

Pusher authentication failure while subscribing due to [java.io.FileNotFoundException: https://xyz.com/api/pusher-customer-auth/], exception was [com.pusher.client.AuthorizationFailureException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: https://xyz.com/api/pusher-customer-auth/]

A connection to https://xyz.com/ was leaked. Did you forget to close a response body?
